Rent also may be paid in person at the Cashier's Office in the Streit-Perham Administrative Suite, phoned in at 335-8625, or mailed to:

Please make checks payable to: WSU Housing and Dining Financial Services. Remember to write your WSU ID# on your check.
Utilities
Connections are the responsibility of the resident.
Electricity - Power to your apartment will be on when you move in. However, you will need to contact Avista at 1-800-223-5884 and open an account within the first week of occupancy. (Electricity is paid by Housing Services in all Chief Joseph Vlg. apartments.)
Telephone - Three options are available: WSU Information Technology at 335-3663, provides service for those who wish roommates to use PAC numbers for long distance service. In this instance, long distance charges are billed to each roommate's student account. You will not have a choice of long distance carriers, which may result in higher rates on international calls. Verizon at 1-800-483-4100, or MyLine at 1-866-464-4828 offer greater economic value and the ability to choose long distance carriers. This may result in substantial savings on international calls. Your apartment will be issued a 338, 336, 334 or 332 prefix. One roommate will be billed for paying all charges on the apartment.
Cable TV - Cable is provided in all apartments. For more information please see the cable TV website http://www.livingat.wsu.edu/cabletv/ or contact Housing & Dining Maintenance @ 335-1541
Wireless Internet Connection - (for Chief Joseph
and Nez Perce only) contact First Step at 208-882-8869.
There will be a $10.00 connect fee and a $25.00 charge per month
per computer. Your computer will require a wireless radio, contact
First Step for details.

Wireless broadband is available in all university apartments through Clearwire.
Clearwire uses a state-of-the-art wireless modem that can be plugged into a desktop computer, laptop, or local network. It works by transmitting signals to and from nearby cellular towers instead of using a traditional phone line. That means you have the flexibility to set up the wireless modem and enjoy high speed wireless internet anywhere they provide service. Multiple computer users in an apartment can use one modem. The Clearwire modem is compatible with standard routers, so you can easily share your Clearwire connection across your local network. Simply connect the modem and your computers to the router, follow the setup instructions from the router manufacturer, and everyone is online. www.clearwire.com
Parking
Parking permits are required; you will be ticketed without one! Your permit is free of charge. Parking permits are available from your Apartment Coordinator. All questions regarding parking should be addressed to your coordinator your first week of occupancy.
Door Keys
You have been issued a door key and a laundry room key. You are solely responsible for the care and safe return of your key. Locks will be changed and keys replaced in any instance where Housing Services is notified that a key has been lost or stolen, or if a resident fails to return a key when they vacate an apartment. Do not pass your key on to another individual who may be moving into your apartment. Lock changes and door key replacements are $40; laundry and mailbox keys are $5 each.
Lockouts
If you lock yourself out of your apartment during office hours, you may contact your Apartment Coordinator or come to the Reservations office and check-out an additional key for 30 minutes. Keys not returned immediately are charged the lock change fee. If you lock yourself out during non-office hours, you may contact your Apartment Coordinator. If they are not available, a troubleshooter may be contacted through Housing Maintenance at 335-1541. (You will be charged a $10 lock-out fee for this service.)
Mail Keys/Mailboxes
Residents in Chinook and Nez Perce open their mailbox with their door key. Chief Joseph residents will receive separate mail box keys in our office.
