Family Apartment Transfer Process

Residents desiring to move to another apartment should submit the online transfer request by clicking on the Current Resident link at http://www.livingat.wsu.edu/fam. Transfers will be granted when space becomes available.

Key Pick up & Checkout Procedures

Normally, keys are issued for transfers on Fridays. During the transfer, a resident will have both sets of keys. Key return and checkout of the original unit should take place no later than three days after the date rent begins in the new unit. Residents needing more time should discuss their specific needs with the Housing Reservations Office when they pick up the keys to the new unit. Residents not returning keys or checking out in a timely manner may be responsible for rental charges for both apartments

Cleaning

The vacated unit must be left in a clean and orderly condition. You will receive cleaning instructions when you pick up the keys for your new apartment. Individual cleaning and damage charges as applicable will be assessed where needed.

Rental Charges

Normally, a period of three days is allowed for a move without overlapping rent. Accounts are adjusted once the keys to the original unit have been received and the checkout has been completed. Rental charges will be pro-rated on a daily basis.
