  1. What is the current channel line up?
    A link to the channel listing can be found at the right.
  2. Will my cable service be on when I move into my apartment?
    Yes, service should be immediately available in the apartment. If you do not have service when you first move in and have followed the connection instructions, please contact Housing Services at (509) 335-4577.
  3. Do I need to disconnect service when I move out?
    No, service remains on when a resident moves out.
  4. Is there a charge to add a second line to my apartment?
    Yes, an additional line charge is $50.
  5. Do I pay an additional monthly fee for cable TV?
    No, cable TV is considered part of your monthly rental rate. There is no separate billing for cable TV.
  6. Can I choose to disconnect my cable TV for a reduced monthly rental rate?
    No, we do not disconnect cable nor reduce your rent. Should you decide you do not want cable TV, do not hook up a television to the cable outlet.
  7. Whom or what number do I call if I have trouble with my existing TV service?
    Please contact Housing & Dining Maintenance (509) 335-1541.
  8. Is there a charge if I call in trouble/repair service on my TV service?
    No, not to fix a problem. There is a charge for intentional damage to the cable line or jack.
  9. Do I need a TV desktop converter box?
    No, you do not need a converter box to receive any of the channels.
  10. Are any of the channels digital or HDTV? Currently, none of the channels are available digitally for HDTV.
  11. Are any of the channels non-English speaking?
    No, currently there are only English speaking channels.
  12. Can I block specific channels or specific programming?
    We recommend using the parental control feature available on most televisions. If you have additional need to block a channel please email housing@wsu.edu.
  13. Can I request additional or substitute channels?
    The channel line-up is reviewed once before the start of each fiscal year for changes. If a change is made, it is finalized by May 1st for implementation for the next fiscal year. Channel requests help us to make decisions when we have the ability to add or change the channel line-up. A channel Line-up Feedback Form will be available soon.
  14. Can I install my own Dish/Direct-TV/etc. satellite dish?
    You may receive satellite TV instead of cable. You must call Housing & Dining Maintenance at (509)335-1541 to make arrangements to prepare the system before having your satellite provider install the dish.
  15. Can I request TV service from Adelphia ComCast/Time Warner/local provider?
    No, no other cable service is available.
  16. Who do I contact if my TV can only "see" part of the channels that are available?
    Please review the connection instructions to make sure you have programmed your TV correctly. Should you need additional assistance, please contact Housing & Dining Maintenance (509) 335-1541.
  17. Can I receive KUGR and other radio channels?
    Yes, but you will need to buy a splitter.
