Room Furnishings

What furniture comes with the room?
All rooms have closets, twin beds, small chests of drawers, desks, and lighting. All of Goldsworthy has track lighting; Gannon does not. Gannon and Goldsworthy have lights as part of the desk and hutches, except on 5th and 6th Gannon.

How long are the bed frames?
36wide x 80 long

How much space is under the bed?
Depending on how you loft the bed, 8", 21", or 32". The beds can go from being very close to the ground to around 3 feet off the ground. Then you also have the option of lofting the bed on top of the cabinet, or you can also bunk the beds together.

Can I use a bed riser in my room to raise the bed off the floor to gain storage space under the bed?
Yes.

What are the dimensions of the closets?
The closets are 76" high, 45" wide, and 26" deep. A top shelf above the closet is 15" high.

What are the dimensions of the desks?
The desks are 40wide x 52high x 24deep, with 1 shelf above and 3 drawers.

Can a computer monitor fit on the desk?

The dressers are 27wide x 24deep x 60 11/16 high, with a cabinet above 3 drawers.

How many outlets are there?
There are 12, with 6 on each side of the room.

Can I bring my own furniture and store the University furniture somewhere else in the hall?
No.

Is my room carpeted?
Yes.

Are there shelves in the room? What are the dimensions of the shelves?
There are two shelves inside the cabinet provided. There is also a shelf attached to the desk.

What are the dimensions of my room?
Rooms are 10’6" wide by 16’7" long.

The windows are 10’ wide by 3’5" high.

Accessibility Issues

Are there any rooms in this hall for people with disabilities?
Yes, rooms 134 and 234 are wheelchair accessible with private bathrooms. Room 103 in Gannon is hearing-impaired accessible.

What public facilities in this hall are accessible?
Both buildings have elevators, making the floors accessible. Also the basement area, which includes a recreation room and a computer lab, are accessible.

Computer and Phones

Are phones provided? How about answering machines?

Where are the outlets and computer hookups in the rooms?
There are two sets of outlets along each side of the room, about 2 feet off the ground, and a third set higher on the wall near the closet, about 6 feet off the ground. The computer hookup is near the window on one side of the room. A fifteen to twenty foot Ethernet cable should be plenty to assist in putting your computer anywhere in the room.

Hall Facilities and Amenities

What amenities, such as pool tables, weight rooms, etc., does Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall have?
Gannon-Goldsworthy has a pool table, ping pong table, fooz ball table, big screen TV, weight room, kitchen, and computer lab.

Where can I do my laundry? How much do the washers and dryers cost?
There is one washer and one dryer on each floor. These facilities are free.

How are the bathrooms arranged in Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall?
There are two bathrooms and two shower rooms on each floor. One bathroom with sinks and toilets and one shower room with four showers are located at each end of the hall.

Are there study lounges in Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall?
Yes. Each floor has a study lounge. There are also two large study lounges on the main floor of Gannon-Goldsworthy.

Southside Café, which is right out the back door.

Where do residents in Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall store their bicycles?
In bike racks under Goldsworthy. There are no indoor rooms for bike storage.
