Room Furnishings

What furniture comes with the room?
All rooms have closets, twin beds, small chests of drawers, desks, and lamps.

How long are the bed frames?
The bed frames are just slightly larger than the bed, which is 36" by 80". The bed frames are wooden platforms with 3 drawers underneath.

What size sheets should I buy for my bed?

How much space is under the bed?
Just a couple of inches as the drawers take up most of the space.

Can I use a bed riser in my room to raise the bed off the floor to gain storage space under the bed?
No.

Do the rooms have bolsters? What’s a bolster?
The rooms have mini-bolsters above the bed. No storage space exists in the mini-bolster.

What are the dimensions of the closets?
In the double rooms, they are 39.6" wide by 69" high by 25" deep. Four storage units exist above the closets and dressers that measure 39" wide by 19.5" high by 25" deep. The measurements in the single rooms are the same, but only two overhead storage units exist above the closet.

What are the dimensions of the desks?
The desks are 44" wide by 24.5/32" deep. The "/" indicates that the desk is deeper at one end than the other. The desks each come with 3 drawers.

Can a computer monitor fit on the desk?
Yes, but shelves that are part of the desk will push the monitor toward the front of the desk. A shelf with a light sits over the desk.

What are the dimensions of the dressers?
In the double rooms, they are 39.5" wide by 23" deep by 39.5" high. There are 8 drawers. In the single rooms, they are 24.5" wide by 23.5" deep by 39" high. Also, there is one small medicine cabinet, 10" wide by 18" high by 3" deep, next to the closets, with two in the double rooms and one in the single rooms.

How many outlets are there?
In both a double room and single room, there are four outlets total. In a double room, the one located near the light switch only has one actual outlet. In a single room, the one located above the mirror only has one actual outlet.

Can I bring my own furniture and store the University furniture somewhere else in the hall?
You can bring your own furniture but there is nowhere to store the University furniture. There is limited storage for extra boxes, luggage, etc.

Is my room carpeted?
No.

Are there shelves in the room? What are the dimensions of the shelves?
Only very small ones over the desk. A cabinet for storage sits between the beds.

Room dimensions

What are the dimensions of my room?
Double rooms are 13’9" wide by 15’6" long. Single rooms are 7’ wide by 11’11" long.

What are the dimensions of the windows?
Double rooms are 13’2.5" wide by 3’ high. Single rooms are 7’ wide by 3’ high.

Accessibility Issues

Are there any rooms in this hall for people with disabilities?
Rooms 101, 203, 275, and 461 are hearing-impaired accessible. 252 is wheelchair accessible.

The dimensions of 252 are 27' - 7 and 7/8" wide on the hallway side, 29' - 6 and 5/8" wide on the window side, and 15' - 5 and 7/8" long on one side and 10' - 10 and 7/8" long in the bathroom section.  The dressers are 30"W by 22"D by 35"H.  One of the desks is 48"W by 23"D by 30"H with a file pedestal.  The rest of the furniture, a built in desk, vanity, 2 closets and 2 beds, are as noted above for all other doubles in Regents.

What public facilities in this hall are accessible?
A public bathroom off the lobby is disabled-accessible.

Where are the outlets and computer hookups in the rooms?
In a double room, there is one outlet on each wall, not including the wall with the closets and cabinets. There is also an outlet near the light switch. The computer hookup is located on the wall opposite of the closets between the two beds. In a single room, there is also one located on each wall with an additional outlet near the light on the mirror. The computer hookup in a single room is on the wall closet to the hallway (to your immediate right or left as you walk in).

Hall Facilities and Amenities

What amenities, such as pool tables, weight rooms, etc., does Regents Hall have?
We have a pool table, a big screen TV with DVD/VCRs in the lounge, two pianos, one weight room, two study lounges, four sunporches with balconies (one on each floor), an ice machine, and a kitchenette and two microwaves which are available for community use. The front desk also has a lot of equipment like tools, games, and vacuums that you can check out with your student ID.

Where can I do my laundry? How much do the washers and dryers cost?
There is one laundry room for each living group (eight total) with one washer and two dryers. The washers and dryers do not cost anything; however, you are charged a fee up front as part of your housing contract. Typically, residents of each floor sign up for a two hour laundry time per week with each floor having one day left open as a "free day" each week.

How are the bathrooms arranged in Regents Hall?
There are two bathrooms per living group (sixteen total) which have showers, toilets, sinks and mirrors.

Are there study lounges in Regents Hall?
There are two study lounges, one on each wing of the building. Students also use the sunporches, formal lounge, and skyroom for additional study space.

Northside, which is part of Regents.

Where do residents in Regents Hall store their bicycles?
Under Regents inside a cage and on wall-mounted racks. There are no inside storage areas in these halls.
