Room Furnishings

What furniture comes with the room?
All rooms have closets, twin beds, small chests of drawers, desks, and lamps. Some rooms have an additional chair.

How long are the bed frames?
The bed frames are 7’ long x 3’4" wide.

What size sheets should I buy for my bed?

There is 10 inches under the bed.

Can I use a bed riser in my room to raise the bed off the floor to gain storage space under the bed?
Yes.

What are the dimensions of the closets?
The closets are 6’ wide x 2’ deep.

What are the dimensions of the desks?
The desks are 4’ wide x 2’ deep.

Can a computer monitor fit on the desk?

The dressers are 2’ wide x 2’ deep, with 6 drawers and 3 shelves above.

How many outlets are there?
There are three outlets.

Can I bring my own furniture and store the University furniture somewhere else in the hall?
No.

Is my room carpeted?
Yes.

Are there shelves in the room? What are the dimensions of the shelves?
Yes. There are three adjustable shelves in the same location. They are each 1’ deep x 7’ wide.

Room dimensions

What are the dimensions of my room?
The rooms in the East Court are 12’7" W by 13’5" L; in addition, rooms in the East Court have a small brick patio/courtyard outside each room. The rooms in North and South are 8’2" W by 19’9" L.

What are the dimensions of the windows?
The windows in the East Court are 7’10" W by 6’8" H. The windows in the North and South are 8’12" W by 4’10" H.

Accessibility Issues

Are there any rooms in this hall for people with disabilities?
Yes. Rooms E037 and E 038 are disabled accessible. Rooms E051, E065, and E072 are hearing-impaired accessible.

What public facilities in this hall are accessible?
Small recreation room (includes pool table, foosball, universal weight machine, ice machine, vending machine, kitchen, laundry room, TV lounge, study room, and the hall front desk.

Hall Facilities and Amenities

What amenities, such as pool tables, weight rooms, etc., does McEachern Hall have?
Small recreation room (includes pool table, foosball, universal weight machine, ice machine, vending machine, kitchen, laundry room, TV lounge, study room, and the hall front desk.

Where can I do my laundry? How much do the washers and dryers cost?
In the basement of the North building. No additional cost.

How are the bathrooms arranged in McEachern Hall?
Semi-private bathrooms, meaning you share a bathroom with a next door neighbor, but both of you have your own private (and separate) entrance to the bathroom.

Are there study lounges in McEachern Hall?
Yes, there is one seminar room in the second floor of the main lobby in the north building.

Southside Café. McEachern is a meal plan optional hall.

Where do residents in McEachern Hall store their bicycles?
In a covered bike rack just inside the open entrance (east side) into the North building.
