Room Furnishings

What furniture comes with the room?
All rooms have closets, twin beds, small chests of drawers, and desks.

How long are the bed frames?
The bed frames are 36" by 80".

What size sheets should I buy for my bed?

Variable and adjustable depending upon the room configuration

Can I use a bed riser in my room to raise the bed off the floor to gain storage space under the bed?
Yes.

What are the dimensions of the closets?
Closet: 48w x 24d x 80h
Wardrobe: 36w x 24d x 72h (instead of closets in some rooms)

What are the dimensions of the desks?
Desk: 44w x 24d x 30h (it has 2 drawers on top of one file drawer)
hutch: 42w x 12d x 25h (fits on top of desk)

Can a computer monitor fit on the desk?

The dresser is 30w x 24d x 47h (7-drawers).

How many outlets are there?
Usually 3 sets per room.

Can I bring my own furniture and store the University furniture somewhere else in the hall?
It is recommended that you use the furniture in your room, or make prior arrangements to bring your own as storage space is limited.

Is my room carpeted?
No.

Are there shelves in the room? What are the dimensions of the shelves?
No, but there is a hutch that is part of the desk that serves as shelves

What are the dimensions of my room?
McCroskey has a number of different room types varying in shape, size, and whether they were designed for one person or two. Also, rooms with multiple widths or lengths have a "jog" in the wall. Most, but not all, of the rooms have sinks. Here is a listing of the room types, dimensions, and window measurements. The hall has a lift that goes from the ground floor to 1st. Areas on these 2 floors are accessible.

Every room has outlets and computer hook-ups against the walls, but there is not a central location in the rooms concerning these things. Each room is unique.

Hall Facilities and Amenities

What amenities, such as pool tables, weight rooms, etc., does McCroskey International House have?
The I-House has 1 pool table, 1 piano, 2 big screen TVs and a full kitchen in the basement.

Where can I do my laundry? How much do the washers and dryers cost?
Laundry is already built into the housing and dining rate.

How are the bathrooms arranged in McCroskey International House?
We have male and female bathroom and shower rooms located at opposite ends of each of the floors.

Are there study lounges in McCroskey International House?
We have one large study on 2nd floor southwest and one study area on the west side of the formal lounge. Many residents use the formal lounge area as a study area.

What do I do with my car? Where can I park?

What is the closest residential dining facility to McCroskey International House? Where will most of the people in my hall eat?
The closest residential dining facility is Hillside Cafe right across the street in Wilmer/Davis.

Where do residents in McCroskey Hall store their bicycles? Outside the ground floor on the south side. There are no inside storage areas in these halls.
