Room Furnishings

What furniture comes with the room?
All rooms have closets, twin beds, small chests of drawers, and desks.

How long are the bed frames?
The bed frames are 36"W by 84"L.

What size sheets should I buy for my bed?

How much space is under the bed?
Depends on how you set up the bed, but a minimum of 10" is likely.

Can I use a bed riser in my room to raise the bed off the floor to gain storage space under the bed?
Yes.

What are the dimensions of the closets?
Some of the closets are 27.6"W by 65"H by 23"D, while others are 35.5"W by 65"H by 23"D.

What are the dimensions of the desks?
42"W by 30"H by 24"D, with a pedestal built into the desk.

Can a computer monitor fit on the desk?
Yes.

What are the dimensions of the dressers?
The dresser is 30"W by 24"D with 3 (30"H) or 7 (46½"H) drawers depending on the room.

How many outlets are there?
There are 4 or 5 depending on the room.

Can I bring my own furniture and store the University furniture somewhere else in the hall?
Storage space is limited, so you should not expect to be able to bring your own furniture to replace university provided items.

Is my room carpeted?
Yes, all the rooms in Honors are carpeted. The suite lounges are covered in wallywood, a laminate covering.

Are there shelves in the room? What are the dimensions of the shelves?
No, other than the carrel above the desk. Storage space does exist above the closets.

Room dimensions

What are the dimensions of my room?
Honors Hall has a number of different room types varying in shape, size, and whether they were designed for one person or two. Two measurements for length or width indicate an extra alcove space, a jog in the wall, or just some extra space in a part of the room, but not extending the entire width or length of the room. Every room is part of a suite. Each suite has a common lounge area, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and a bathroom/shower area. Here is a listing of the room types and dimensions. Windows are approximately 3’W by 5'6"H.

Suite 210 & 310

A: double, 11’W by 11’5"/15’5"L, with 1 window
B: double, 16"W by 9’4"L, plus an entryway, with 3 windows
C: double, 10’2"W by 13’4"L, with 1 window

Hall Facilities and Amenities

What amenities, such as pool tables, weight rooms, etc., does Honors Hall have?
The hall has a pool table, ping pong table,  TV,  piano, a full kitchen in the basement and indoor bike storage. There are also study lounges on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors as well as the computer lab in the basement.

Where can I do my laundry? How much do the washers and dryers cost?
In the basement, in the laundry room, the hall has 6 washers and 7 dryers.

How are the bathrooms arranged in Honors Hall?
Each suite has a bathroom and shower for use by the members of the suite.

Are there study lounges in Honors Hall?
Yes, there study lounges on 2nd and 3rd floor.

What do I do with my car? Where can I park?

The closest residential dining facility to Honors is Hillside Café, which is just across the street in Wilmer/Davis.
