Q: What is a hall government and what do they
do?
A: The Stevens Hall Government exists to represent the residents
of the hall within the residence hall community and beyond.
Q: How and when is your hall government chosen?
A: Hall government members are elected by the current residents
at the end of each school year. Positions that remain unfilled
will be elected at the beginning of the next school year.
Q: How can I get in contact with someone on
your hall government?
A: Contact the Residential Education Director of Wilmer-Davis and
Stevens at 509-335-9166.
Q: What activities does Stevens Hall have during
the year?
A: Stevens Hall plans a wide variety of activities throughout the
school year. These may include serenades to our brother hall, pre-game
BBQ's, Dad's and Mom's weekend activities. All hall members are
invited to all activities, with the cost of most activities covered
through the hall's budget.
Q: What government positions are available
at the floor/house level and how can I get involved?
A: President, Vice President, Secretary, Head Sponsor, Social Chairs
(2), Historian, House Manager, Intramural Rep, RHA Rep (2), Freshman
Mentor, Even Steven Editor, Philanthropy Chair, Environmental Rep,
Homecoming Rep, Ground Floor Sponsor (2), 1st Floor Sponsor(2),
2nd Floor Sponsor (2) , 3rd Floor Sponsor(2) , Squire Week Rep

Q: On what does the government spend my $25
each semester?
A: Your $25 is spent on programming for your entertainment, enjoyment,
involvement, and education. Our students can participate is intramurals
and many other opportunities Stevens Hall, within the residence
hall community and within the Washington State University community.
Q: What hall equipment items are available
to check-out at the front desk?
A: Stevens Hall equipment is all housed within Stevens and can
be checked out from the House Manager, one of the elected positions
on the Hall Government. Stevens has a DVD player, 36" flat
screen TV, a VCR, pool table, and full kitchen. All of this equipment
and more is available for the residents of Stevens Hall to use
at any time free of charge.
Q: When do the hall and floor governments meet?
A: Stevens Hall Government Sunday nights at 8:30pm in the lobby.
Q: Does Stevens Hall provide any leadership
training for people interested in becoming involved?
A: Stevens Hall government supports any residents to attend the
Fall and Spring Leadership retreats and also plans additional training
and leadership development opportunities for the government members
and the residents in Stevens.
Q: I understand Stevens Hall receives funds
to reduce hall damages. Tell me more about the program and on what
such money can be spent.
A: Stevens Hall does not incur many damages through the school
year because our women are proud to live in the oldest residence
hall on campus. This pride allows the residents to purchase such
items the new TV and DVD player, along with the new vacuums, with
the money saved from not having damages in the building.
