How can I connect with the GLBT and Allies community in my residence hall?
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Ally Residents Residence hall staff seek to promote an environment that is safe and inclusive for people of all backgrounds and opinions. If you are feeling isolated or targeted while living in the hall, please contact a Resident Assistant or the Residential Education Director for your hall (http://www.livingat.wsu.edu/hdrl/about/reslife/HDs.asp ) immediately. If you are incoming student who is signing your housing contract and you would like to learn more about the GLBTQ community in the halls, our Central Staff in the Residence Life office (http://www.livingat.wsu.edu/hdrl/about/reslife/staff.asp ) would be happy to talk with you. They are Safe Zone trained and have a commitment to meet the needs of all students. Residence Life is currently exploring a Gender Neutral Housing Community as a living option for Fall of 2010. If you have any interest in learning more about this community or would like to join the GN Housing Committee, please email Edwin Hamada (ehamada@wsu.edu) or John Nugent (jnugent@wsu.edu). The committee will work through October of 2009 on a proposal in order to launch the community in Fall of 2010.
